Crowds not deterred by heavy rain showers

A very large crowd attended the sale of Agricultural, Garden and Household Items at GEDNEY, on Saturday 14th August 2010.  In spite of extremely heavy showers an original unrestored Massey Ferguson 35 Diesel Tractor was sold for £5,900 which is believed to be the highest price achieved for such a machine sold by auction in the district.  Other prices achieved included:- 1973 Petrol LWB Land Rover £1,500; Pettit Cart £825; Ferguson Tractor in need of restoration £550; Horse Ploughs to £95 each; Tractor Instruction Manuals to £75 each; Atco Lawn Mower £200; Air Compressor £95; Farm Gates to £100 each; Oil Tank £120; Hand Tools to £50 per lot; Chimney Pots £45; Potato Baskets £38; Coke Stove £50; Planters to £76 each; Cattle Trough £48; Car Badges £46; Pine Wardrobes £230; Dining Room Table and Chairs £210; Coffee Table £30; Office Desk £22; Warming Pan £31; Brass Oil Lamp £100 and a quantity of household items sold for satisfactory prices.
