An exceptionally large crowd of buyers from at least five (5) counties attended the sale of Farming and Horticultural Machinery and Equipment held on behalf of well known local farmers R.H.D and A Welch and Neighbouring Farmers at Ropers Bridge, Whaplode.

Principal  prices realised, were:-  David Brown 990 Diesel Tractor £1,600, McCormick International 434 Diesel Tractor £1,500, International B250 Diesel Tractor £750, Ferguson Tractor for spares £270, Kubota B7100 4 wheel drive Horticultural Tractor £2,225, Tong Loading Hopper £320, Cebeco Automatic weighers to £270, Summerfield Bulb Lifter £340, Nobels Bulbs Planters to £50, Lely Fertiliser Spreader £140, Bulb Sterilizer £370, Fyson Elevator £250, Barrel Riddle £185,Vibrating Riddles to £185, Johnson Potato Hoover £140, Massey Ferguson 30 Drill £225, Lely Power Harrow £1000, DeWalt Snip Saw £90, Saw Bench £70, Electric Planer £50, Sets of Chisels to £28, Chitting Trays to £1.35 each, Scrap Iron £480 and a number of smaller items made very satisfactory prices.
